Son of the late Harry Lee Swindell, Sr. and Pearly Mae Avery Swindell, Joe was survived by his wife of 31 years, Sally Brown Swindell of the home; daughter, Erin Black Saults and husband, Mark, of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Emsley, Meera, and Patton of Hope Mills; brothers, Harry Lee Swindell, Jr. of New Bern, and Kelly Gray Swindell and wife, Barbara; nephew, Kenneth Swindell and wife, Jennifer; nieces, Renee, Leah, and Marlee; great-nephews, Wyatt and Gabreal; and great-nieces, Autumn and Willow.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro, NC. The service will be officiated by Bishop Michael Howard.
