Joshua "Josh" Allen Jones

Joshua "Josh" Allen Jones, age 33, a resident of Barco, North Carolina, passed away on August 31, 2021 at his home. Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Rex Bennett. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.

Josh was born in Craven County on September 9, 1987, the son of Jimmy Jones and Kelli Powers. He went to school in Pamlico County and was currently employed as a commercial fisherman. Josh was an outdoorsman who loved the water and fishing, especially bringing those big tunas in. He enjoyed playing baseball in middle school.

Josh is survived by his wife, Rena Sarvis; a daughter, his pride and joy, Mackenzie Jones of the home; his father and step-mother, Jimmy and Janet Jones of Chocowinity; his mother, Kelli Spencer of Pamlico County; his brother, Joey and Lindsey Jones and their children, Griffin, Winter and William, all of Asheville; niece, Rileigh Alligood of Chocowinity; his grandmother, Joan Powers; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Josh is preceded in death by his grandmother, Hazel Jones and his brother, Michael Alligood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cotten Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
