
Judy was born January 21, 1948 in New Bern, NC.
She is survived by her son Robert "Robbie" Edwards (Brenda) and 2 Grandchildren, Joshua Edwards and Morgan Jacques, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mother, Evelyn (Hardison) Rouse of New Bern; three sisters, Linda Taylor, Wanda Sapp, Cindy (Benny) Needham of New Bern and one brother, Charles Rouse of Charleston, SC.
Nieces and Nephews, Kelly Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Shelley (Stephen) Starnes, Kristin Needham, and Sarah (Cody) Mensch, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Ellis Rouse.
Judy lived in New Bern her entire life except for approximately 10 years when she moved to Richmond, VA eventually making her way back to New Bern.
Judy graduated from New Bern High School, where she was a member of the Drill Team and a graduate of Craven Community College. She worked for Airco Welding while residing in VA, and worked an extended period of time for Hatteras Yatchs in New Bern. She was also employed by Joe Alcoke, the Craven County Board of Education, and worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Craven County School System.
Judy was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Colonial Capital Humane Society for a couple of years, and her hobbies included bowling, collecting coins, Beanie Babies, and had recently taken up sailing and traveling across the country, but two of her most favorite loves were Elvis Presley and Bojangles Tea!
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 7th, at Cornerstone Church, 2304 US-70, New Bern, NC 28560. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with service to follow at 7 pm.
Prior to the day of service, family will be accepting visitors at the home of Evelyn Rouse (Mother), 104 Neely Lane, New Bern.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Dr., Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
