

On April 12, 2016, June Frances (Wilde) Chapman, of New Bern, NC and formally of Rutland, Vermont, passed away to be with her heavenly Father. She was born on March 13, 1931, in Hopedale, MA; the daughter of William and Reita Wilde.
She graduated valedictorian from Hopedale High School in 1949 and went on to Berkley College of Music in Boston, MA. For many years, she was an accomplished accordionist, performing in the Boston area along with her sister, Jean, a violinist.
She was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church in Milford, MA, where she taught Sunday school and sung in the choir.
In 1952, she married Stacy Chapman of Milford at the Pine Street Baptist Church. After Stacy’s discharge from the Navy, they moved to Millis, MA. They raised 2 children, Stacy Chapman, III and Susan (Chapman) Regimbald of Rutland, Vermont.
While in Millis, she was a member of the Millis Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also was a den mother and Girl Scout leader for many years.
After 30 years of service, in 1986, she retired from Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham, MA, where she was employed as a divisional manager of raw materials and office personnel. She and her husband moved to Rutland, VT, where they built a new home to be near their children and grandchildren.
In 1987, she became a member of the Grace Congregational Church in Rutland, VT. She served as a deaconess, treasurer of the “Fort-Nightly”, secretary of the Women’s Fellowship, and chairperson of the spring and Christmas Bizarre.
She was also a board member of the Sunset Home (a retirement home for women), for 5 years.
Her greatest joy was her family, being a mom and grandmother. She loved gardening and always had beautiful flower gardens.
In 2006, she and her husband of 64 plus years, relocated to New Bern, NC to retire in the warmer climate. They joined the First Baptist Church of New Bern where they were active members serving on the Benevolence Committee, Senior Activities Committee and as greeters each month.
She is survived by her husband Stacy Chapman, Jr.; daughter Susan Regimbald and husband Victor; daughter-in-law Laura Chapman; and six grandchildren, Kristen McConnell and husband Josh, Dr. Jessica Chapman and fiancé Michael Margarella, Anne Roberts and husband Blake, Aaron Adams and fiancé Katelyn McNutty, Aubrey Silva and MollyAnne Austin; great-grandson Anthony Silva; step-great-grandchildren Micah and Charlotte McConnell.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Reita Wilde; son Stacy Chapman, III; sister Jean Brown and brother Earl Wilde.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service.
