She is preceded in death by her mother Melanie Ann Harris and sister Liana Harris.
She is survived by her husband Wayne Mathis; father Richard Harris (Judy); sons Mark Mathis of LA and Dallas Mathis of New Bern; sister Katina Barefoot (Tom) of New Bern; step sisters Denise Smith of Hendersonville and Amy Williams (Shane) of LA; step brother Kevin Smith of Forest City, NC; sister-in-law Kim Cope (A.C.) of New Bern; mother in law, Joyce Mathis and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Cotten Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
