Katie Virginia Avery, 88, of Grantsboro, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, April 15, 2022 and was reunited with her husband, Ray and her daughter, Judy Avery Slade. Katie was born October 28, 1933 to the late John Roy and Lela Norman.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Avery and wife Polly of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Betty Tyndall and husband, Keith of Reelsboro.
She was blessed with two granddaughters, Kimberly Cowell and husband Tim and Kelly Avery Brown and husband Bert; six grandsons, Michael York, Richard Slade, Cory Slade, Ryan Green, Travis Green, and Daniel Avery and wife Sara.
Also survived by her special great-grandchildren, Amber Lowery, Shawn Cowell, Colton Brown, Avery Brown, Hadley Brown, Allie Avery, Emery Avery, Lila Avery, Sidney Slade, and Alyssa Slade; and a precious great-great-grandson, Atlas Lowery.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all.
In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a private service.
Revelation 21:4 "God will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away."
