

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ken later moved to Amityville, Long Island where he met the woman he would share his life with. Ken and Catherine (Diamond) were married on September 7, 1957 and raised 5 children together in Lindenhurst, NY.
Ken Worked his way up from Linesman to Lead Mechanic and then into Management for “Ma Bell”. He was involved in The Fleet Supervisors and held several positions on the Board up to President. He enjoyed his membership at the Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus in Lindenhurst.
When not working for NYNEX, Ken enjoyed taking his family camping, boating, fishing, and hunting. He especially loved being outdoors at their Pennsylvania campsite. In retirement he took up another lifetime passion, clamming on Long Island’s Great South Bay.
In 1996, Ken and Cathy moved to New Bern, NC where they settled into a quiet life.
Ken enjoyed the water so much he volunteered his time and enjoyed being a member of Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation. He was also an active member with the New Bern Computer Users Group. Ken spent many hours with his friends at Craven County’s Law Enforcement Officers Association range where he also served on the Board. He was always at the ready to help a friend.
Many friends were made through his presence at St. Paul Catholic Church in New Bern. Ken enjoyed seeing the world. He and Cathy took numerous road trips around the East coast, especially along the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of their favorite locations. In 2017, Ken and Cathy began to fill their NC State Park Passport by visiting as many state parks as they could in North Carolina.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Catherine Wyman and his sister Patricia Broschardt.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Catherine, His children, Kenneth (Janet), Kate, James (Jackie), Thomas (Trani Jo), Mary (Frank). Ken will also be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Raymond), Kenny (Lauren), Alexandra, Chloe, Cassie, Conner, Cate, and Mercedes and great grandchildren, Emily and Carter.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church with inurnment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
