

He was born in Englewood, NJ in 1950 and later moved to Long Island, NY where he grew up. He was an excellent mechanic and owned a Texaco gas station and repair shop in Commack, NY. In 1992 Roy moved to North Carolina where he again opened a repair shop. Roy retired from being a mechanic in 2000 and opened a construction business. He enjoyed woodworking from an early age and became a highly skilled craftsmen. He took pleasure in being by the water, boating and fishing. Roy was also an avid fan of race cars.
For 32 years Roy was a loving husband to his wife Teri. He was a proud father to his children Bethany (Chris) Hallman, and Roy Ferry (Roy passed in 2022 from a hit and run), and a step-son Jeff (Callie) Polaski. He was a very proud Pop-Pop to his grandchildren CJ, Anthony, Noel and Jase Hallman and Brenden and Bristol Polaski. He is also survived by siblings Heidi Ferry, Gwen Ferry and John Ferry, as well as several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his son he was also predeceased by his mother, Rhoda Ferry, who passed earlier this year at the age of 96.
