He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Gilda Minervini, sister Rose Marie Chapman, and a grandson Anthony Minervini.
Leo is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Minervini, sons, Leo Minervini III (Valerie) of Raleigh, NC, Michael Minervini (Lisa) of Johnson City, TN, Joseph Minervini (Tiffany) of Cape Coral, FL, daughters, Victoria Minervini of Ft. Myers, FL, Gilda Hughes (Eric) of New Bern, NC, Dorothy Minervini of Garner, NC, brother, Anthony Minervini of Middlebury, CT, sisters, Yolanda Bonini of Wallingford, CT, Julia Bontatibus of Branford, CT, Leona Russell (Jim) of Wallingford, CT, Anna Korb (Bob) of Wallingford, CT, Elizabeth Minervini of Durham, CT, twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Leo was a parishioner at St. Paul Roman Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor James R. Jones council #3303 where he served as a Fourth Degree Knight. He also served his country in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War. Leo served his community as a lifetime member of the Jaycees and volunteer with the American Red Cross. He was also a member of the American Legion, where he served as a chaplain.
The family will receive friends at Cotten Funeral Home on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church at 12:00pm.
