He was born in London England, and immigrated to the U.S. at age 15, Joined the U.S. Army, then Became a civil engineer for the State of N.J. where he retired after 26 years, then traveled with his wife Jody on their boat for many years before settling in New Bern.
Leonard is survived by wife Jody Bassett, and two sons Christopher and Douglas Bassett; and Three grandchildren.
A service will be announced at a later date by Cotten Funeral Home.
