Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Wallace Foster, Jr.; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Foster Denike and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Julianna, Alyssa, Colin and Leah, and great-grandson, Samuel James.
She was preceded in death by her son James Wallace Foster III, and her parents, Sarah and Lawrence Britt.
Linda was born in Lumberton, NC, and spent her younger years in Goldsboro, NC and Durham, NC. She is a graduate of Southern High School in Durham, and attended Campbell College.
Durham was where she met her husband, Jim. They were married July 29, 1967, and moved to Virginia, then to New York, where they spent 41 years before returning "home" to North Carolina, where they settled in New Bern.
Linda's hobbies were photography, reading and gardening. Her business career, including working for Tomorrow's Traditions in Dobbs Ferry, NY as a wedding photographer for many years, before opening a jewelry store in Somers, NY called Lyndy Jewelers.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and most recently great-grandmother.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 320 Pollock Street, New Bern, NC 28560. A reception in the parish hall will follow the service.
