Linda Marie (Marshall) Grzeika, 70, of New Bern, NC, wife of Thomas H. Grzeika, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Born to the late Joseph L. Marshall and Gloria B. (Oppelt) in Hartford, CT, Linda attended Hartford schools and graduated from South Catholic High School, Class of 1974. She later went on to fulfill a life-long dream of graduating from Trinity College in Hartford in 2009, with a BA in English. She retired from the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Court Support Services Division, in 2016.
Linda lived in New Britain, CT for several years after her marriage, before moving to Colchester, CT where she and Tom raised their sons and lived their lives. Colchester was home. In 2019, she made the move with Tom to New Bern, NC and built a different kind of life.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she leaves her two sons, Jonathan (Karen) Grzeika of Baltimore, MD and Jeffrey (Norimar) Grzeika of New Bern, NC; a brother, Paul L. (Jessica) Marshall of Cape Coral, FL; sisters, Susan (Dan) Yeadon, of Groton, MA and Lenore (Francis) Beebe of Glastonbury, CT; a granddaughter, Alitza Grzeika Nieves of New Bern, NC; several in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends both in New England and in New Bern. She was predeceased by her beloved niece, Emily Yeardon.
There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are private and are handled by Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory in New Bern, NC.
