Linda Bay Richardson

Linda Bay Richardson, born October 27, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, in New Bern, North Carolina. She was the cherished daughter of Charles and Anna Louise Bay, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved husband, Francis "Deke" Richardson.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her family: her brother Robert "Bob" Bay and his wife Anita of Cookeville, Tennessee; her son Todd Richardson and his wife Diana of Gahanna, Ohio; and her daughter Julie Richardson Hart and her husband Reid of New Bern, North Carolina. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler Richardson and his wife Stephanie of Blacklick, Ohio; Kirby Richardson Miller and her husband Kyle of Marietta, Georgia; Morgan Hart of London, England; and Tiffany Canipe of New Bern, North Carolina. Linda also delighted in her role as a great-grandmother to Layne and Cade Richardson of Blacklick, Ohio. She is also survived by her nephew Michael Bay of Mapleton, Kansas.

A graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, where she was a cheerleader, Linda went on to attend The Ohio State University as a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She later retired from the Gahanna-Jefferson School District after many years as a dedicated secretary at Gahanna Middle School West. Linda was a former member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church in Gahanna and Garber United Methodist Church in New Bern. She also served actively in the Outreach Circle of The King's Daughters.

Linda's life was enriched by the love she shared with her family and the joy she found in watching them grow across generations. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, NC 29560. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery Lakeside Chapel, 900 River Rd., New Bern, NC 28562. She will be laid to rest following the service.
