Lindsey was born to the late Benjamin and Lela Pickles in Pamlico County, NC on 20 April 1941. She is also the sister of Thomas (Dora) Pickles, John (Cindy) Pickles and the late Benny Jean (Homer) Brady.
Lindsey is a graduate of Bessmer High School in Greensboro, NC and Dell Pothier School of Medical Technology in Asheville, NC as a Registered Lab Tech. Upon graduation, she moved to Morehead City, NC where she ran the medical lab for Drs. Mike Brady and John Gainey. It was also here that she met her husband, Michael, to whom she was married to from 06 November 1964 until his death on 23 December 1995.
Lindsey was most proud to be called Wife to Mike, and even more proud to be called Mom to her children: Lisa (Greg), Patricia (Jeremy), David (deceased) and Benjamin as well as MeMaw to 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
It was through her children that she became involved in her community by volunteering with the Boy and Girl Scouts of America and the New Bern Band Boosters Club. Lindsey was a faithful parishioner of Clarks United Methodist Church by her membership and her service as church and council secretary and her membership in the church choir.
In her free time, she was an active member of the Red Hat LadyBug group with her best friend, Sue Anne Cantwell, and spend time with Mari Clark at Clark and Lewis Florist which made floral arrangements for LEO and their family members.
Services are being held at Clarks United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 8th at 12 noon with Rev. Mike Register officiating and graveside services immediately following at Hollywood Cemetery in Pamlico County.
