Louis Alexander Foy was born on January 28, 1947 in James City, North Carolina and was raised by his mother, Gladys Foy, he was the oldest of six children. After graduating from high school in 1966, he went to the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He safely returned home from Vietnam and soon after he met his wife Lucille, they were married in September 1969. They moved to California to start their life together and he was employed by the United States Postal Service, he also re-enlisted in the Army Reserves. He proudly retired from both organizations, with over 25 years of service excellence, making impactful contributions that he was consistently recognized for with commendation awards and promotions.
Though he had successful and fulfilling dual careers, his proudest accomplishment was establishing assurance in his salvation in 1973, while attending Living Word MB Church. He enjoyed ministering in the church as a Sunday School teacher for decades in CA and GA, and at the Senior Citizen home in GA – his “gift of gab” was put to good use for the Kingdom of God. He never met a stranger and enthusiastically told people about the Lord’s goodness – and many sought his wisdom and advise.
In his final months of life, Louis was smothered in LOVE. This time was precious and beautiful, the memories will be carried with each person who experienced it for the rest of their lives. Louis departed this life on the afternoon of March 6, 2022 at home in Lilburn, GA at the age of 75.
Louis leaves countless, precious memories to be cherished by his devoted wife of 52 years, Lucille Foy; son Louis (Olivia) Foy, daughter Cindy (Travis) Jiskra, daughter Renise (Victor) Spellman; his six grandchildren, his siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, along with neighbors and friends whose lives he touched.
