She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was member of Bridgeton FWB Church and her interests include bowling, fishing, spending time with her special pet Buddy and she loved to make homemade scratch biscuits. Magdalene is preceded in death by her husband Bennie Lenwood Spain, Sr. her son, Bennie Lenwood Spain, Jr. and one daughter, Brenda Bishop.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Turner and Janie Bloomberg, both of New Bern; five grandchildren, Michelle Heath, Jeremy Bloomberg, Theresa Frizzelle, Steven Spain and Denise Spain, eight great-grandchildren, Jaaron, Cooper, Brinnin, Trent, Justin, Ben, Lauren, and Maggie.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2012 at Cotten Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
