Malcolm "Mac" Earl Barnett

Right after high school Mac entered the U.S. Coast Guard and proudly served our country for 8 years. When Mac left the military, he worked at Coleman Ford in New Bern for a few years. Then Mac began working with Joe Alcoke as his first employee and continued working with him for many, many years until he retired in 1995. Mac and Joe were great friends and cherish many memories together. When Mac was not working, you would find him fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, camping, and especially traveling with Joan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Joan Barnett; sons, Michael Barnett (Tammy) and David Barnett; grandchildren, Brandon Barnett, Allen Barnett, and Kristina Barnett; great-grandchildren, Kole Barnett and Avery Barnett; and cousin, Charles Salter (Mary).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur "Barney" and Grace Barnett.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Cotten Funeral Home.
