“Peggie” as she was known, hailed originally from Ashland MA and relocated along with her immediate family to South Florida in 1953. Just a few years later in 1957, she would marry William Conn and settle in the same area to which they would have 5-Children. Eventually, she would become a single Mom raising these same 5-kids and work multiple jobs in order to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. Although she had many occupations, she would eventually settle on being employed by Walgreens as a Pharmaceutical Tech for 20-consecutive years until finally retiring in 2003. Afterward, she would relocate once more to New Bern where she would enjoy her Family as well as her New Family, Tabernacle Baptist. There she would engage her passion for children by volunteering in the Church’s Nursery taking care of what she would refer to as “Her Babies”. Her greatest occupation however was being a Mom. Steadfast, strong, resilient and never wavering, she was committed to her Children and subsequent Grandchildren. She leaves behind a lasting legacy that will long live on in the generations to come.
She is survived by her Daughter, Vanessa Thomas, Son-in-Law, James Thomas, Daughter-in-Law, Missy Conn, Sons Mark and John Conn as well as being predeceased by 2-additional Sons, Scott (2003) and Michael (2022).
