She is survived by four sons Chris Matthews Sr. of Vanceboro, Roy Matthews Jr. of Winston Salem, Donald Matthews of Greenville, Ronald Matthews of Jacksonville FL; two daughters Faye Matthews Hardee of Greenville, Jo Ann Hughes of Myrtle Beach SC, sister, Betty Hope of Wilmington NC, seventeen Grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday October 12th, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the home of her daughter Faye Hardee at 459 Winding Ln. Greenville NC 27858. A service will be held Saturday October 13th, 2012 at 2:00 PM Temple FWB Church in Winterville NC.
