Mary Louise (Price) Scott was born to Almeda and Christopher Price at Fort Dix Army Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. She later moved to Altoona, Pennsylvania, where she met the love of her life, Harry James Scott. Together they shared 62 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Known affectionately as "Mary Lou" by her family and friends, she was a remarkable woman with a kind heart and a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles with grace and dedication. As the wife of a United States Marine, she proudly supported her husband throughout his 27-year military career before they retired together in Havelock, North Carolina.
Mary Lou began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and later continued her calling of caring for others as a Home Health Aide after settling in Havelock. While she found fulfillment in helping those around her, her greatest joy came from her family.
She was a loving mother to Wendy Schirer (Earl) and Erik Scott (Leila); a devoted grandmother to Earl Christopher Schirer, Tyler Yost, Andrew Holcombe, and Keegan Scott; and a proud great-grandmother to Sophie, Dominick, and Nikko.
Mary Lou will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Mary's lifelong love of animals.
