

He was the third of five sons. He had attended the local high school in Paung Township. In 2001, he married his wife, Mi Sein Mya, in Thailand. While living there, Nai Htaw Oo and Mi Sein Mya had a son, Mehm Hong Non. Mehm Soe Lwin is preceded in death by his first son.
Mehm Soe Lwin and his family arrived in the United States on November 15, 2005. His first job was at Urethane Innovators, Inc. in New Bern, NC. He later worked at Moen in the Craven County area. In 2012, he worked at Bosch while being a part of the team aiming to establish the city’s local Mon Buddhist monastery.
As one of the founders of the Mon Buddhist Monastery, Mehm Soe Lwin was appointed as its treasurer. Both at work and in the Buddhist community, he possessed excellent social skills demonstrated through his fostering of relationships with colleges and superiors. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Mon Buddhist Monastery’s patrons and Chairman in recognition of his efforts as their treasurer.
In 2019, he moved on from his Treasury role at the Mon Buddhist Monastery in order to continue to support the organization as a regular member. He is survived his wife and two children Chan Sorn and Kyae Kyae. While navigating through national and religious endeavors, Mehm Soe Lwin, 49, died peacefully on February 27, 2022 at his home after suffering complications from lung cancer.
A visitation for Mehm will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, North Carolina 28560, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
