Millard lived in New Jersey with his wife, Nancy, until 1969, when they picked up and moved their family to Newark, Ohio, so Millard could continue climbing the ladder with Owens Corning Fiberglass. In 1974, the family moved again to Sylvania, Ohio, when Millard took a position at the company's corporate headquarters in Toledo. Millard and Nancy raised their three children in Sylvania, Ohio, each of them succeeding with the guidance Millard and Nancy provided and the wholesome landscape of Midwest values. Once the children were off to college, Millard and Nancy decided to move back to where they had grown up. They returned to New Jersey in 1987, wanting to be closer to Millard's parents in their later years and to be surrounded once again by the cousins and friends they had grown up with in Collingswood, New Jersey. In New Jersey, Millard changed careers and joined Strohl Systems, where he worked in internet security during the Y2K changeover, spending many years commuting to New York City.
Millard and Nancy spent many summers on the Jersey Shore, just as they had as children, treasuring the time with Nancy's father, her brother, and her younger siblings. Maintaining those ties to New Jersey was one of the great pleasures of their life together.
Millard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy, and his oldest daughter, Lynn Hanon.
He is survived by his son, Millard, and his daughter, Marguerite Stratton, as well as his grandchildren Millard, Morgan Quinn, and AJ Banker; Rachel and Alex Hanon; and Tristan and Kellan Stratton.
Millard will be remembered for the life he built for his family across two states, and for the years he gave back to the people and places that shaped him. He will be deeply missed.
