Monroe is predeceased by his parents Clyde & Margaret Johnson, daughter, Gail Johnson Bivens, brother, Goldman Johnson, and sister, Elizabeth Johnson.
Surviving his son, Monroe Hoyt Johnson, Jr. of Little Switzerland, NC, daughter, Teresa Johnson Jones, of Vanceboro, NC, brother, Odell Johnson, and sisters, Verna Mae Capps, Judy Perritt, Mildred Cook, Bernice Johnson all of Galivants Ferry, SC, Lunita Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Allred of High Point, NC, and Patricia Hatcher of Mullins, SC. And several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
