

Born in Zanesville, OH, she was the daughter of John Willis Shaw and Kathryn Wells Shaw, and one of six children. After graduating from Zanesville High School and the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing, Myrna started her lifelong career as a registered nurse. In 1957, she married Paul David Granger. Their marriage produced four children.
Moving frequently with her husband and family over the years, Myrna maintained her nursing career as her husband, Paul, served as pastor of several United Methodist Churches in North Carolina.
Myrna was an avid reader, loved the beach, drinking coffee and staying connected to her family in Ohio. She was also a huge Duke fan. She was a member of the First Christian Church congregation in Fayetteville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul David Granger, her parents and four sisters: Patricia (Pat) Withers, Marjorie "Margie" Strohacker, Phillis "Peggy" New, and Jacqueline "Jackie" Fleming; and brother, J.W. Shaw.
She is survived by four children, Lynn Bailey, Michael Granger, Matthew Granger (Laurie) and Leigh Butler (Chris), ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
