Nancy Banker, a woman whose life was defined by her boundless love for her family and her decades of dedicated service to others, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on August 8, 1942, Nancy lived a full and rich life that took her from the shores of New Jersey to the heartland of Ohio and back again — always carrying with her the warmth and grace that made her so cherished by everyone who knew her.
Nancy spent over four decades as a nurse, serving her community with compassion and skill from 1974 until her well-earned retirement in 2015. For more than 40 years, she showed up for her patients with steady hands and an open heart, embodying the very best of her profession. Those who were lucky enough to be in her care knew they were in good hands.
At the center of Nancy’s world was her family. She and her beloved husband, Millard Banker, shared an extraordinary 65 years of marriage — a partnership built on love, laughter, and an unshakable commitment to one another. Together they raised three wonderful children: Lynn, Millard, and Meg. Nancy poured herself into motherhood, raising her children in Sylvania, Ohio, in the tight-knit communities of Northwest Ohio where her family put down roots and built a life.
In 1987, Nancy and Millard made their way back to Haddonfield, New Jersey, returning to the place where so much of their story began — surrounded once again by cousins, in-laws, and the extended family that meant the world to her. Those years in Haddonfield were filled with family gatherings, grandchildren’s laughter, and the kind of everyday joys that Nancy treasured most.
In 2023, Nancy made one final move, relocating to New Bern, North Carolina, to be closer to her son Millard. It was a testament to who she was — always choosing family, always leaning in closer to the people she loved.
Among Nancy’s greatest joys were her seven grandchildren — Millard, Morgan, AJ, Rachel, Alex, Tristan, and Kellen. She beamed with pride at every milestone, celebrated each one fiercely, and never missed a chance to show up for the grandchildren she adored. They were her sunshine, and she was theirs.
Nancy Banker leaves behind a legacy not measured in titles or accolades, but in the lives she touched — the patients she cared for, the home she created, and the family she loved fiercely and without reservation. She was, in every sense, a remarkable woman.
She is survived by her husband, Millard Banker; her children Millard and Meg; her grandchildren Millard, Morgan, AJ, Rachel, Alex, Tristan, and Kellen; and a wide and
loving circle of family and friends across New Jersey, Ohio, and North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lynn.
A life well lived. A heart forever remembered.
