Nelia Grace Rouse

Nelia was born on February 14, 1948 in New Bern, NC to Neil and Myrtle Autry. She led a full life and was a blessing to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, and the best mother on earth. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, always praising their accomplishments and providing love and encouragement. Nelia found her strength through her faith in Jesus Christ. She used her God-given voice and her testimony in His service for much of her life to help win souls for His kingdom, with a servant’s heart and an obvious love for others. She was an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, accountant, manager, CNA, and entrepreneur, and a beautiful human being inside and out who will be missed by all.

She is survived by her loving husband Tim Rouse, her two sons Richard Dwayne Lyttle (Pamela) and Michael Warrick (Kimberley), her daughter Lisa Peterson (Wally); grandchildren Aaron, Jadyn and Joshua Lyttle; Cierra Joyner (Jacob), Victoria Perry (Justin), Atlas Pittman, Austin Pittman; Brandon, Meron, and Kirsten Warrick; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Joyner, Landon, Jamison and Autumn Grace Perry. She is also survived by her parents Neil and Myrtle Autry, her brother Larry Autry (Linda), sister Lorraine Smith, two step daughters Samantha Long, Tamra Sutton and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8th from 1-3 pm with service beginning at 3 pm, at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern NC. A grave-side service will follow at Green Leaf Memorial Park.
