Norma was born in 1925, Ponito, lndiana, to Margaret and John W. Williams. The first 30 years of Norma's life were spent growing up, working, and living on the family farm in Wells County. These depression era farm years were a great source of pride for Norma, and were deeply cherished by her.
Norma's 40 year marriage to James Miller, Jr., brought her to eastern NC where she resided for 58 years. 'Jim' and Norma made for a very patriotic couple. Norma retired as a career civil servant, and Jim, as a master sergeant USMC.
The youngest of 5 children, Norma survived brothers Wendell, Clarence, Joseph, and sister, Viva. Norma also survived her husband. Norma, in turn, is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and one step son.
Hard working, optimistic, generous, and powerfully humble, Norma embodied the best of our heart land's values. She is greatly loved and will be long missed.
