Bobbie was a member of the Democratic Women of Jones County and a proud supporter of the Special Olympics. She was a Registered Nurse of 35 years and worked at facilities such as the Caswell Center in Kinston, CarolinaEast in New Bern, and PHS Naval Hospital in Barrow Alaska, where she joined the “Polar Bear Club.” She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Bobbie spent her free time gardening, fishing, raising chickens, baking, reading, softball, singing, creating handmade jewelry and costumes, and many other artistic endeavors.
She loved her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. She was kind and generous, made everyone a welcome guest in her home. Her caring way and personality will be missed by all those who knew here. She was vivacious and adventurous and dreamed of a better world for her grandchildren to inherit.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her father Benjamin Leroy Parker, mother Ruby Grace Parker, and two brothers Donald Parker and Bruce Parker.
Bobbie is survived by four sons, Benjamin Aurthur Kane (Yelena Primina) of Morehead City, NC, Jeremy Mathew Kane of New Bern, NC, Charles Jonathan Kane (Natalya) of Morehead City, NC, Charles Anthony Kane (Michelle) of New Bern, NC; one daughter Bronwyn Ruby Elizabeth Kane of Stafford, VA; two brothers, Benjamin Leroy Parker Jr. of Knightdale, NC, Michael Parker (Debbie) of Morehead City, NC; twenty grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 25th at 3:00 pm at Cotten funeral home.
