Patricia Bodnar Everett

Patricia graduated from Havelock High School in 1966 and married the love of her life Glenn Everett on June 11, 1966. Patricia and Glenn have touched many lives through their strong faith in God. She graduated from Elon College in 1988 and was a beloved high school math teacher.

Patricia loved gardening and especially growing roses, keeping her bird bath full as well as a full bird feeder or as we called it her squirrel feeder. She loved music especially The Beatles and gospel music which she enjoyed sharing while teaching Sunday school.

Anyone who knew Patricia knew she was fiercely competitive when playing Uno, Connect Four, Bingo, and Scrabble and did not like to lose. Patricia truly loved holidays and would put on her best holiday attire.

Patricia is survived by her beloved children, Clint, Yvette, Sally (husband Alvin) and Marianne, as well as her only grandson Wyatt whom she adored, her siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, Steve and Mary Bodnar, two brothers, and one sister.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern. The family will receive visitors following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia's memory to one of her favorite charities, National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness during this difficult time.
