Patricia Shipp Ipock

Patty was born on December 11, 1931, to Mary Hall Shipp and Fred Shipp, Jr., in Ironton, Ohio. She lived most of her childhood and adult life in New Bern. After graduating from high school, Patty obtained her cosmetology license and worked as a beautician for over 30 years. She was a faithful volunteer with the Gray Ladies Auxiliary of Craven County Hospital, was an avid bridge player in multiple bridge clubs, and was a member of New Bern Golf and Country Club. She was also a longstanding member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in New Bern. Patty loved flower arranging, gardening, crafts, and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.

Patty was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert “Dell” Ipock, sister Betty Jo Jones, and nephew Jay Jones.

She is survived by her two sons, David Huff (Jeni) of Daytona Beach, FL, and John “Rick” Huff of Emerald Isle, NC, daughter, Elizabeth “Holly” Furcron (Tom) of Greenville, NC, and grandchildren, Ashlegh Cranford (Chase) of Raleigh, NC, Meagan Lee (Jason) of Pinehurst, NC, Hayes Huff (Mary) of Norfolk, VA, and Jenna Huff of Wilmington, NC. Patty is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren, Liv and Lola Cranford of Raleigh, Eloise and Charlotte Lee of Pinehurst, Kate and Hugh Huff of Norfolk, and Liam Barnes of Wilmington, and her extended family members.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, September 5th, at 1:00 p.m. in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
