Brother Turk....
The stories we could tell, from Cherry Point to Iwakuni.
It's been years since I last saw my Brother, I remember him coming to Barstow to give me the Chevy truck inherited by way of passdown from 533, if memory serves. 
You will always be in my thoughts, Semper Fi  Brother....

Only a few weeks ago I met a gentleman at the VA who looked very familiar. I asked what his last name was, and he  said Etchison… I responded Turk? We had served together in VMA 224 and deployed to Iwakuni in 1978. I had not seen Turk in 46 years but his name would come up many times when reminiscing with those we served with about the old days in the Corps. There was much more depth to Turk than he would ever let on. I was really glad to see him that day at the VA. I was also shocked to see that he had passed. May your family, in your loss take some comfort in the fact that he is in a better place. Semper Fidelis Paul.

I know Turk back in the 70s after the Horror Merchants were started we was part of the original members, he was a wonderful human being and great brother he will be truly missed.

My kids knew him as Uncle Turk. I knew him as my brother, for 50 years. Turk and I were roommates for 2 one year tours in Iwakuni in the 70s and the stories I could tell about that scoundrel. I will miss my brother dearly.  Rest in peace, amigo!

Turk had helped my mom by fixing her stove. After he completed it, she invited him to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. He was hesitant at first, but my mom did not take no as an answer. As we were eating, my nephew was playing with his bands on his braces. One flew off and landed in Turk’s plate. Without missing a beat, Turk just flicked it to the side and kept on eating. He would not get a clean plate because he 1) would not cause my nephew to get in trouble and 2) would not embarrass him. Turk was pure gold!  Ride high, buddy.

I knew Paul "Turk" when we were overseas in VMA 332. Always a pleasant guy with a great sense of humor. Life is short. Brother will be missed.

Served with Paul in VMA(AW)332 in Iwakuni 76-77.  Knew him before as we were in "A" School at the same time in 71-72.  Good people.  He will be missed.

Turk and I worked for many years at  NADEP and he always had a great sense of humor and was always talking about riding his bike. I will miss him and his friendship.
