He was a member of Friends of Fort Macon.
He is survived by his wife Susan Lauer, his mother, Mary Lauer of Oconomowoc, WI; one son, Todd M. Lauer of Newport; three brothers, Terrance Lauer of Germantown, WI; Scott Lauer of Oconomowoc, WI; Tim Lauer of Sullivan, WI; five sisters, Charlene Zwig of Ixonia, WI; Marlene Haverkamp of Waukesha, WI; Darlene Millpointer of Oconomowoc, WI; Susan Runyard and Tammy Sauer of Oconomowoc, WI; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City.
