Phillip Melvin Lewis

Phillip Melvin Lewis, 67, died July 12, 2011 at home.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and he was a member of the Sudan Temple and a long time Mason. He is preceded in death by Edgar Lewis, Dorothy Hooker and Carolyn Coggins.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Lewis Crostic and husband Norman of Edward, Edgar Allen Lewis and wife April, and Wade Michael Lewis, all of New Bern; his brothers and sisters, Barbara and husband Lee, Doug and wife Bonnie, Steve, Nancy and Sidney, as well as seven grandchildren.

Services with military honors and Masonic rites will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2010, at the funeral home.
