Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Phyllis Anne D'Ambrosio Trommers, of Trent Woods, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the age of 87. Phyllis was proud of her Italian heritage and was fiercely independent and on occasion, even a little feisty. She was a kind and generous soul who would do anything she could to help others. Her culinary skills were phenomenal and she loved to prepare meals for her family, though never with a recipe, but simply with a "pinch" of this and "dash" of that. She was truly refined, somewhat formal, and maybe a little old fashioned, always believing in doing things the proper way. Phyllis will surely be missed and remembered with fondness by all who knew her.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Kenneth Trommers, with whom she enjoyed 55 years of marriage; as well as her brother, Robert Gordon, her sister, Joyce Horton and her daughter in-law, Eileen Trommers.
She is survived by her children, Marshall Trommers, Deirdre Frey (Ronald), Kerrie Trommers Smith, and Valerie Kraenzle (Fred); as well as her grandchildren, Ronald Frey, II, Nikolas Frey, Kassandra Smith, and Christopher Frey.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Saint Paul Catholic Church followed by the burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a reception in the church after the burial.
Flowers are welcome or contributions may be given in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
