
He was a member of West New Bern Presbyterian Church, where he served in many capacities. Raymond served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He then graduated from East Carolina University. He retired after a career with the Naval Investigation Service (NIS), and later worked as a Magistrate of Craven Co. He was active in his community serving on the board of the Interfaith Refugee Ministries. He was an avid gardener.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irene McGowan Brock of New Bern, daughters Susan I. Brock of Kabul, Afghanistan and Lori B. Devitt and husband Jack of Weaverville, N.C.; brother Jack Brock and wife Laverne of Winterville, N.C.; sister Lucille Avery of Winterville, N.C.; grandchildren Forrest Devitt and Autumn Devitt.
He was preceded-in-death by parents Raymond Lloyd Brock amd Leatha Weatherington Brock; brothers Clifton Brock and Freddie Brock; and sisters Edith Nobles and Myrtle Avery.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 6th, 2 p.m. at West New Bern Presbyterian Church, Family will receive friends one hour prior in the fellowship hall. Graveside services will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
