

Resa Leona Rowe Skinner, age 89, of New Bern, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 4, 2022. She was born February 26, 1933 in Blounts Creek, NC, daughter of the late John Henry Rowe and Mary E. Toler Rowe.
Resa was raised on a farm and worked hard with her other siblings. She met Earl and married the love of her life. She loved doing things with him and especially fishing and was a life time homemaker.
She had many other loves which included cooking, canning, gardening, flowers but most of all she loved people and her Jesus. She attended Faith FW Baptist Church and was involved in singing in the choir, visitations, doing the benevolence fund and enjoyed handing out tracts. She was very humble and meek and never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Henry Earl Skinner; and three sisters; Mary Martha Norman (Clyde), Julia Myrtle Arthur (Albert), Lovie Edna Toler (Oscar); and four brothers; John Timothy Rowe (Inez), James Gilbert Rowe (Retha), Ben Frank Rowe (Toddler), John Arthur Rowe (Infant); and one son-in-law, John H Crary, and one step-grandchild, Joshua Moore.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Crary (fiance, Ralph Puckett) of New Bern, and Carol Beachler (Greg) Bridgeport, WV; two sons, Pastor Jim Skinner (Faye) of Four Oaks, and Edward (Eddie) Skinner (Nancy) of New Bern, Grandchildren; Timothy Crary (Shannon), Rebecca Kivett (Greg), Michael Skinner (Elise), Chrystal Hinkle (Ryan), Step-Grandchildren, Jonathan Crary and Benjie Crary (Johanna); Great-grandchildren, Lilly Ann & Hayes Crary, Myles Hinkle, Emily & Noah Kivett, Jake Skinner, Step-Grandchildren, Lauren Banks (Stephen), Tamara Crary (Xavier), Cameron Crary (Haileigh), Step-Great Grandchildren, Katherine Crary, Josephene, Berkley & Truett Banks, Xavier, Braxten & Kendrick Crary, and Lincoln Crary and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Boyd officiating, followed by burial in the Bridgeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. just prior to the funeral and other times at the home, 1714 Hwy. 17 North, New Bern, NC 28560.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Resa's honor to Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
