Richard was a gentle giant with a big heart and a passion for exploring the world. He loved his Harley, His New England Patriots, and he was known for being the best Sunday Chef around. Above all, Richard cherished his family and his beloved fur babies, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures and moments spent with those he loved. Rick will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of adventure, and of course his perfect smile and beautifully sculpted nose. His warmth, humor, and larger-than-life presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul and parents Louis and Gertrude.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Cosetta “Coe” Garon; their children, Justin (Andrea) and Kyle (Brandi); his brother, Robert (Janet); his sisters, Theresa, Bernadette (Rick), and Susanne (Leo); and his cherished grandchildren, Izabelle “Izzy” and Theodore “Theo.” He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Amanda, Katie, Michael, Andrea, Heather, Ann, Ronnie, and Christopher; his cousins, Alan Lajoie and family and Carol Lajoie; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be held on 11:00 am Friday, October 23, 2026 at St. Paul Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life will be held in Sturbridge, MA at a later date.
Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Garon family during this time of remembrance and loss.
