Buzz was originally born in Minnesota, but grew up in Scarsdale, New York. He attended The Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY, and during this time in high school met his future wife on March 13, 1948 when she was part of a group he was picking up for a dance. They were married three years later in 1951. Buzz graduated from John Hopkins University with a B. A. Degree in 1952. He initially worked for J.C. Penny and Pillsbury, and then had a long career with Western Electric in New York City and Syracuse, NY where he was Senior Executive in Management and Accounting. He would later live in Syracuse and Manhassett, NY. He ultimately retired and moved to North Carolina in 1987. In retirement, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, landscaping his home, family gatherings at the beach in nearby Emerald Isle and at Big Moose Lake in the Adirondacks, his dogs Jordan and Polly, holiday celebrations with his children and grandchildren, and watching NY Yankee baseball and Hopkins Lacrosse games.
