Missing you always. You are in my heart forever.

I just found out of Dickie's passing. We spent a lot of days when we were kids. His name sake is my brother in law.

Thought about Dick all day yesterday...not realizing he passed a year ago today. Miss you!

Happy birthday, Dad.  I am so sad to not be able to say that to you today.  I miss your smile and your laugh and the way you said my name.  I love you.


Dick was a dedicated, hard-working banker who believed in the mission of the industry. He was a wonderful volunteer, and was honored by his industry colleagues to serve as an Officer of the Pa. Bankers Association from mid-1996 through June, 1999.
       During those years, Dick helped lead the industry through implementation of new insurance powers, conducting in-depth member needs work and strategic planning, and creating a for-profit subsidiary that continues to perform today.
       All the while, Dick was thoughtful and kind, and much appreciated by those he encountered.
        I served as CEO of the Association during those years and was grateful for his support and friendship.

We were classmates at Williamson Jr Sr High school, in a large circle of friends. In the winter of 1964, my Dad was in the hospital and Dick came to stay with me for a while to help milk cows and do chores. That summer was the World's Fair in NYC, my uncle's sister let us stay on the third floor of her house for a few days. Dick's mom, Dorothy took us to Elmira bus station, Al Losey and Dick and I, to Grand Central Station in NY! We country bumpkin arrived in GCS and had instructions to get on the subway to her place. Suitcases in hand we finally made it to the house, knocked on the door and a gorgeous young girl opened the door! We went to the fair and made it back home. 15 or 16 year old boys alone in NYC! So sorry to hear of Dick’s passing.  May  Dick’s memories bring his family peace and solace during this difficult time. 

Our condolences go out to all of Dicks family & friends. I worked with and for Dick Wilber from the time he started  working at First Citizens National Bank to the time of my retirement in 1999.  I remember Dick as  a Gentleman in all respects. He was always a calm and  caring person no matter what the situation was.                      Our thoughts & prayers are with you .  God  bless.

Dick you were loved by all. In the short time as your neighbor and friend we have come to know you as a very sweet kind man who always had a smile on his face and LOVED his dog Bernie! Bernie is with us now and know that he will be loved and well cared for, with plenty of doggy cuddles, kisses, new adventures, and of course two new fur siblings! Dick, you will be greatly missed by all your extended family here in Carolina Commons!

Dick Wilber, always willing to lend a hand. Here he is helping Georgia Abbey and I move into our new offices for Leadership Centre County in 2013.

We had the honour of meeting Dick when he moved into Wiltree Court in 2007. He and "Jake" started out as neighbors, and it wasn't long before Dick and Jake became best friends for us. (Myself and 2 children) We have so many wonderful memories over the years. Dick's kind, gentle spirit, love of life, and fabulous Penn State celebrations will always be remembered. Sending condolences to families of Rich, Lori, Alison...and Bernie.

My deepest condolences to the family.  He was such a kind man and I don't think I ever saw him not smiling.  Unfortunately I did not work at the Bank during his presidency as I worked at Blossburg 1973 -1974 for work study and later worked at Mansfield location during my holidays and summer breaks from college with President Mr. Rumsey as assistant secretary and teller.  I'm sure God will find favor and grant him eternal life, as he was such a good man. 

Dick and I were classmates for 12 years.  He was a wonderful man...everyone loved him. He shared his love of his Family and Bernie with everyone around him.  We will all miss you Dick!  GOD BLESS YOU. 

Richard E. Wilber, Dickie as I knew my first cousin was named after his Uncle, my father.  As a boy all of the FL Wilber cousins looked up to him.  Between our two families there were 10 of us, in a huge farm house and camping out back.  What beautiful childhood summer memories.  None of our parents worried about us getting into trouble, Dickie was entertaining and keeping order.  

As a high school student and eventual Penn State graduate we admired that he set the bar high for the rest of us.  He set such high standards for himself and I know his brother Jerry, and I set our sights high to meet his standards of success.  He was successful as the first college graduate of the 18 original Grandchildren of H. Elwyn Wilber and Myra J. Wilber. 

This is my childhood memory, one of love and great admiration.  He led the rest of his life with equal qualities.  He is missed terribly.  GOD rest his soul.  Amen
