He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in China, Burma and India. He was a Chaplin for over 30 years in the VFW Post 8203 and he was a member of the Coin Clubs in Sarasota and Venice, Florida.
He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Nelson of North Carolina; Linnie Lou Konya of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be held in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
