Robert "Bobby" Norris Sr.

Robert L. "Bobby" Norris, Sr., 69, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2017, surrounded by his family. Bobby was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to others, especially when it involved cooking barbeque for church and community fundraisers.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 3rd at Covenant of God Church with Pastor Chris Elks and Rev. Rex Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty B. Norris of New Bern; son, Robert L. Norris, Jr. of North Topsail Beach; grandsons, Andrew J. Norris and Mason G. Norris, both of Wilmington; brothers, Billy Norris, Lee Norris, George Norris, and Donald Norris; sisters, Shirley Straker, Sarah Cahoon, and Mary Toler.

He was preceded in death by a son, James S. Norris; his parents, Sherwood B. Norris, Sr. and Laura S. Norris; brothers, Sherwood B. Norris, Jr. and Harvey B. Norris.
