He served his country during WWII and served aboard the Battleship North Carolina. Roy was also a long time member of the Society of Petroleum engineers.
Roy is survived by his son, Dale Hightower of Shreveport, LA, one brother; Ronald Hightower of San Diego, CA, one sister; Marsha Young of Oklahoma City, OK.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
