Russell Joseph Simonetta

He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1974. He was a pilot and flew a KC-135 and a helicopter in Viet Nam. After retirement he taught elementary school. He moved to New Bern in 1992 where he enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved flying, sailing, riding his motorcycle and driving his red Fiat convertible. He was also a world traveler and visited all 7continents. He got pleasure from good food and wine. We will miss him so much.

Leaving behind to honor and cherish Russell's life and memories are his daughters, Lisa Loria and Jackie McKenzie; grandchildren, Ciara McKenzie and Nate McKenzie and his wife, Lindy; beloved companion, Susan Balmat; his much-loved dog CiCi; and many loving family members and close friends.

To honor Russell's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
