Ruth Jean Lieske

Ruth Jean Conners Lieske, 82, of Trent Woods born in New Bern went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2021. Wife of the late MSgt Robert Lieske, Ruth was a fun loving spirit with a true servants heart.

Ruth had the amazing gifts of hospitality and service which she readily shared. Ruth co-served with her husband Robert as Activity's Director for the VFW Post 2514 in the 70s-80s. Prior to her retirement, she was a Creative Director for Silk Flowers by Jean where she remained a creative consultant. Ruth above all else loved being with and taking care of her family. Additionally, she loved cooking, baking, home decorating, shopping with her sisters especially at Walmart, yard sales and her Pepsi's.

She leaves behind a family that she loved completely including her daughter Kim Lieske King and husband Jimmie of Trent Woods; sisters, Linda Riggs and husband John of Merritt, and Brenda Woolard and husband Billy of New Bern; grand-daughters, Hannah Owens of Trent Woods, Memory Robbins of Eden, and Katie Owens of Durham; three great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ella Conners; sister, Alice Riggs; and brother, Billy R. Conners.

She will be laid to rest with her husband on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Jacksonville, NC at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held at a later date at her home down by the river. Details are soon to come.
