Ruth was born in Switzerland and moved to the United States on August 19, 1965 and became a U.S. citizen soon after.
She retired from her professional life as the Vice President and Treasurer of Instar Enterprises Int'l, Inc. and moved to New Bern, NC on August 1, 1999, partly because it reminded her of Switzerland. She had her home built and soon became a dedicated member of Riverdale United Methodist Church and its choir.
She worked as a volunteer for many years serving meals at Religious Community Services (RCS) in New Bern. She also was a member of the Carolina Pines Home and Garden Club. The last years of her life were spent as a patient at RiverPoint Crest Nursing Home.
She is survived by her brother, Gert Rickenbacher, who lives in France and a nephew, Mattias Rickenbacher, who lives in Sweden.
Ruth was an exceptionally kind, loyal and caring friend to anyone who knew her well. Her strong and unwavering belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour must have been what sustained her to the end of her life.
Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
A Graveside Service will be held at New Bern Memorial Cemetery, 1112 Chelsea Rd, New Bern, NC 28562, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
