Sandy was a native of North Carolina and spent most of her life in New Bern. Sandy was a loving mother to her twin daughters, Amber Hazelwood Smith and Angela Hazelwood Herring. Her granddaughters Hazel, Harper and Violet brought her the most joy, and she cherished the time she had with them.
She is survived by her daughters, Amber (Nathaniel) and Angela (David Brian), her three grandchildren, sister Diane, niece Dawn, and nephew Tommy. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Shirley, father Ruben, sister Debbie, and her beloved dachshunds, Peanut and Baby.
A celebration of life/memorial will be held at a later date.
