She volunteered at the Merci Clinic and she worked at Coastal Community Action.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dick Weiss of New Bern; three sons, Brett Weiss of Dover, NH; Todd Weiss of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Scott Weiss of New Bern; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, followed by her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
