He was a past Grand Knight and a past Faithful Navigator with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn Newman Tellez; son James Newman Tellez of Kuna, Idaho; daughter Jacqueline Marie Tellez of Greenville, SC; brothers Walter Tellez of Tucson, AZ and Hector Rene Tellez of Tucson, AZ; and three grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
