A member of The United Methodist Church, Sarah was known for her gracious spirit and her remarkable talent for creating beauty and symmetry in all that she touched. Whether arranging flowers, decorating her home, or bringing order to everyday life, she found joy in making the world around her a more harmonious place.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Edward Porter Armstrong; sons, Ned Armstrong and John Armstrong; daughter, Susan Rasmussen; brother, Fred Butler; grandchildren, Garrett Taylor Rasmussen and Caroline Armstrong; great-grandson, Julian; and her beloved cat, Toby.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Lakeside Chapel in Greenleaf Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Capital Humane Society, 1860 Old Airport Rd., New Bern, NC 28562.
