Shirley Sawyer Sullivan

New Bern, NC Shirley Sawyer Sullivan, 72, of New Bern, died July 15, 2013 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

She was a former member of St. Mary’s FWB Church and a member of the Star Group and Circle. She was a current member of Blessed Hope Ministries. Shirley lived in the NOAH apartments where she attended services and was very active in various activities. She is preeded in death by a brother, Jimmy Sawyer.

She is survived by two daughters, Veronica “Ronnie” Wilson and husband Randy, and Michelle Trexler and fiance’ Tony Hill, all of New Bern; three brothers, Jerry Stapleford of New Bern; Earl Sawyer of Aurora; Kenneth Sawyer of Newport News, VA; one sister, Sylvia Ipock of Moyock, NC; her grandchildren, Patrick Dillon Ratchford, Tommy Hill and fiance’ Susan Tabor, Christian Wooliever and Jason Wilson, and her great-grandchildren, Jaelyn and Kelsi Hill, Madilynn Carraway, Austin Lee, Hailee and Isaac Wooliever, Michael, Kaleb and Alba Wilson.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2013 at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by a service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Blessed Hope Evangelist Ministries 3312 Oaks Rd., New Bern, NC 28562.
